Semuliki National Park - 
The true birders’ haven
Occupying an isolated slice of Ugandan territory beyond the rwenzori, the forested Semiliki national park represents the eastern most tract of the Congo’s great Ituri forest.This is an exceptionally exciting destination for bird and primate watchers.The 441 recorded bird species include 216 forest birds and 80 central African species found in few, if any, other forests in east Africa.

Black dwarf hornbill, shinning blue kingsher, nkulengu rail and yellow-throated indicator are just a few random highlights cited by the park’s experienced guides. In addition, an astonishing 5 species of primate more even than kibale can be found within 6 km of the primeval hot springs that bubble out of the rift valley floor at sempaya. The 3 day Safari tour will introduce  you to Semuliki National Park lying on an area of 220 sq km, found Bwamba County in Western Uganda in Bundibugyo district just near Fortportal town. Semeliki national park harbors an extension of Congos Ituri rainforest, it is home to around 52 species of mammals, 300 recorded tree species, 374 butterfly species, and over 400 bird species hence among the best birding spots in Uganda and that is why it is called the True birders haven. While on this safari different animal species will be seen such as Hyenas, white tailed and the slender mongoose, buffaloes, leopards, elephants, vervet monkeys, cats among others. You will have activities like; Game drives (including optional night game drives), chimpanzee trekking, and bird watching among others.
Itinerary In Summary 
Day 1. Transfer from Kampala to Semuliki National Park.
Day 2: visit Sempaya hot spring and Game drive.
Day 3. Transfer from Semuliki national park to either Kampala or Entebbe.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1. Transfer from Kampala to Semilki National Park.
Wake up early for breakfast and travel to Semuliki National Park approximately 7 to 8 hours on the road from Kampala. Have lunch along the way; later reach the park check in at the lodge. In the evening you can either have optional night game drive through the park and finally diner/overnight your booked hotel.

Day 2: visit Sempaya hot spring, chimp tracking and Game drive.
Early in the morning after breakfast, set out and visit the Sempaya hot springs which are the most attention-grabbing attractions in Semuliki. These springs have a geyser that shoots up from the 8 meters hole, and the water is at a high temperature. The most interesting part about the springs is that one can boil matooke (banana) and eggs in the springs and the can get ready for eating n a few minutes. In fact this is the largest hot spring in Uganda. Still along the trail where the hot springs are located you will be a shared to a number of birds such as the Blue breasted Kingfisher and various primates such as the red tailed monkeys, and the grey cheeked mangabey. Later on you will proceed to Mungilo waterfall where you will have an opportunity of seeing a number of beautiful birds hence making it great time for birders. You will also have an opportunity of trekking chimpanzees but in this park they can be trekked either in the morning or evening because during the day they tend to hide. Retreat from here and head back to the lodge and have lunch, unwind around the pool. In the evening the guide will transfer you for a game drive, expect a great experience, different animals like leopards, big cats, buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, and lions among others. Also crocodiles and Hippos will be seen along River Semliki and finally Diner/Overnight at your lodge.

Day 3. Transfer from Semuliki national park to either Kampala or Entebbe.
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and get ready to be transferred from semuliki national park to either Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your late departure flight out marking the end of your safari tour.
TOUR AND SAFARI TRANSPORT
STANDARD: 4X4 SAFARI VAN
Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari Vans customized for game viewing and photography. Each safari van comes with a professionally trained driver guide and fuel for the whole safari. Our Safari vans have viewing hatches and each client is entitled to a window seat. Our Vans can take up to eight people. We also have 4×4 Super Customs very comfortable and stable on the road. These carry up to 5 people with their luggage. We also have 4×4 RAV 4 for a group of two people
UPGRADE: 4X4 LUXURY SAFARI LANDCRUISER
We have luxury latest Land cruisers each driven by professionally trained driver guides and fuel. They have pop up roofs for proper game viewing and photography. They come with a small fridge for cooling your drinking water while on safari (which is always included while IN THE VEHICLE). They have inverters for charging small gadgets such as your smart phones and cameras. They can seat five to a maximum of seven people and each client is guaranteed of a window seat.
